Modern Settlement and Population


Population:

The state of Tennessee is home to over six million people making it the 17th largest state.  The 2010 census recorded that there were a total of 62,487 people inhabiting Franklin, Tennessee.  The population density equaled 1,393.3 people per square mile.  From 2000 to 2010 Tennessee experienced a population growth of about 11%, which was two times the United States rate. 

Ethnicities:
According to the 2010 census, the racial makeup of the city was 84% Caucasian, 10 % African American, 4% Hispanic/Latino, 1% Asian, 0.24% Native American,  0.05% Pacific Islander, and 2% from other races.
